Situated in the foothills overlooking the sea with a view across to the city centre, whichis only 15 minutes away, the school is made up of contemporary and traditional buildings and multiple sporting facilities including two gymnasiums, many tennis courts, and two playing fields, set in picturesque grounds.
The Year 12 scores are consistently high, and a majority of the students go on to University, both in Australia and abroad, such as the USA and UK.
Mercedes College have been educating International students for 40 years and has wonderful support for our students from overseas including several English Language support programmes, so to cater for individual student’s needs.
Our caring homestay families are usually part of our staff or school community, who live within 20 minutes of the school. Often, there is an opportunity to correspond with the homestay families before the International student arrives to live with them, which enables a smoother transition into their new home environment.
Among our specialties are: that each student gets a Mac Book Air Laptop computer for the duration of their time at Mercedes, there is an extensive and successful sport programme – including Badminton, Table Tennis and Basketball, an extensive Music faculty offering a variety of orchestra, bands and choirs to join and the Drama and Film programmes are highly regarded.
