Profile

Perth College has educated girls since 1902. It prepares girls to shape their own future; to think creatively, embrace personal excellence and live generously. A strong heritage and set of values are at its core. It is a top 10 School in Western Australia with a high level of pastoral, academic and community support.

A recently refurbished Boarding House, with predominantly single air-conditioned rooms, is located opposite the School, providing academic tuition in the evening and weekend recreational activities.

Expert teaching is experienced at every level and our excellent facilities include a Science Centre, 50m swimming pool, Senior Leadership/Learning Centre, 4 Art Studios, Music Tuition studios, 650-seater Theatre and Dance Studio. Our Early Learning Centre accommodating pre-Kindy students to Year 3, is a dynamic and vibrant learning environment, focusing on personalised programmes and aiming to engage every student.

Technology keeps pace with global trends. Each Year 7-12 student has her own tablet computer and courses for coding, robotics, Digital Technology and Sciences are popular. Classes in Electrical Engineering enable the girls to use problem-solving skills, creativity and practical knowledge to make products through the medium of wood. Cooking is also popular!

Our self-leadership programme, InsideOut, is unique to our School and runs from pre-Kindergarten-Year 12. The girls develop resilience, find their strengths, develop confidence, exhibit leadership, and display social and emotional intelligence through age appropriate workshops and activities.

We place importance on making a difference in, and giving back to, the community and students can take part in meaningful social justice opportunities after School and in projects overseas.

An extensive co-curricular programme means that our girls are experiencing a holistic education. Options include Music, Drama, Dance, Debating, Photography, Youth Theatre, Amnesty, Recycling and a Ballet School. Our Physical Education programme is recognised for excellence in sport and girls can choose a wide variety of sports in which to compete or to focus on their own personal fitness in our fitness suite.

The facilities and resources at Perth College blend heritage and modern buildings, providing opportunities for all students to excel and become true global citizens in any profession.
