Profile

At Concordia College, we believe that students should be guided into taking responsibility for their learning through programs that are challenging, integrated, relevant and rewarding. Our vision is for all students to engage deeply in their learning so that they can achieve to the best of their ability and then use their talents to serve others.

In the middle years of secondary schooling, Concordia offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP). In Years 11 and 12, students select from a wide range of subjects as part of a broad and balanced curriculum, enabling them to gain the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) or to complete the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). Vocational Education pathways are also available.

Excellent academic results have been attained by graduating students for many years, with students achieving ATARs that are significantly higher than the national average. Over 25% of our graduating students in 2016 who were eligible for tertiary entry achieved a score in the top 10% of Australia. The Dux of Concordia College in 2015 was an international student from China who studied the IB Diploma Programme and achieved a score of 99.8. In 2016 our second highest result was attained by an international student with an ATAR of 99.1.

Located close to the Adelaide CBD, Concordia provides an ICT rich learning environment where every student has the use of a laptop throughout the school day and for learning after school hours. The College has highly regarded contemporary facilities including an excellent Music Centre, Media/Television Studio and Library Resource Centre. A state-of-the-art Science Centre is also due for completion in 2017. While Concordia’s history began in 1890, it is undoubtedly a vibrant, modern school with contemporary learning spaces and teaching practices.

Concordia staff acknowledge their responsibility to foster in students a love of learning through providing them with a quality education that encourages academic, emotional, spiritual and physical development. Concordia students feel supported by staff, and parents appreciate how each child is encouraged to reach his or her full potential.
