JobsDB調查2018年各行業加薪幅度，今年打工仔平均加薪5.7%，加薪幅度最高的三個行業分別是「銀行及金融」、「資訊科技」及「市場推廣／公共關係」；加薪幅度最小的是「運輸及物流」。

有人指某些行業指加薪幅度遠追不上通脹，“The increse is a mere 3.1% in the Transportation and Logistics industry and where inflation is a double digit.” (運輸及物流業界的加幅僅僅是3.1%，通脹卻是雙位數增長。)

“Mere” (讀音me-er) 作形容詞用時是「僅僅的」、「純粹」、「只有」的意思，是個簡單但有力的字，在説話或寫作時用上這字，有强調作用，試比較下面的例子：

1. Don’t scold him, he is a child. (別駡他，他是個孩子。)
vs
2. Don’t scold him, he is a mere child. (別駡他，他只不過是個孩子。)
