《iET Facebook 英語學堂》 第4周 : Confusables – Advice vs Advise

中文有同音字，英問亦然，有些不止發音相似，串法也差不多，學生容易混淆。今天介紹的這兩個字，不單讀書作文時會用到，職場電郵中也常常出現。

Advice 和 Advise 都是「忠告」、「建議」的意思。Advice 是名詞，最後的 “ce” 發音 “s”；Advise 則是動詞，”se” 發音 “z”。

iET教大家一個易記小貼士，”N” (noun) 在字母排列中排在”V” (verb) 之前；Advice 的 “c” 排在 Advise 的 “s” 之前，那就記得 Advice 是 Noun，Advise 是 Verb，寫作時便不會用錯了！

例句：

Advice: I would like to hear your advice.

Advise: The teacher advised me to spend less time on browsing the internet.
