外國朋友對中國農曆新年非常感興趣，iET便藉此機會講解一下，讓大家可以介紹多點中國文化給朋友。

今天是年初八，農曆中又稱爲「穀日」，即穀類的生日，習俗是放生祈福，英文怎樣說呢？

「初八」: The eighth day of Lunar New Year 
「穀的生日」: the birthday of Millet 
「放生」: to liberate (captive被困的) animals back into the wild 

“Liberate” 是「解放」、「使xx重獲自由」的意思，亦可以用 “Release” (釋放) 代替，或簡單點的 “Set free”。

所以，不妨跟外國朋友介紹：

Today's the eighth day of Lunar New Year and it's also called the Birthday of Millet. People liberate captive animals to pray for blessings. （今天是年初八，亦稱「穀日」，人們放生動物祈福。）
